Who We Are
Meet the team that will guide you as you embark on your pet's final journey

Meet the Team

The Suffolk Pet & Horse Crematorium is situated on a beautiful rural farm at Great Saxham, near Bury St Edmunds in the heart of Suffolk. Bill Phizacklea opened the crematorium in 1999 after realising how important the loss of a pet can be and the issues we as pet owners face when it happens. With over twenty years of experience, Bill provides an important service to all pet and horse owners at his family run farm.

The importance of recognising the loss of a pet and all that involves – grief, bereavement and helping your family cope with the loss of a friend – is the priority of The Suffolk Pet & Horse Crematorium. It is a privilege to provide a service to caring and loving animal owners.

Each and every animal is cremated with the dignity, care and sensitivity he or she deserves.

The Suffolk Pet and Horse Crematorium is enormously proud of its team. You will be greeted by Bill, Richard, Holly or Graham, all of whom have a wealth of experience and are sensitive to the needs of their customers at a difficult and emotional time.

Bill

Bill established The Suffolk Pet Crematorium in 1999 after realising there was a need for a sensitive service after the loss of his own beloved horse when he didn’t get the chance to say goodbye. “I created the Suffolk Pet & Horse Crematorium to help you lay your beloved pet to rest with the sensitivity, dignity, and respect that all animals deserve.” Bill has ridden horses all his life and is the owner of Sybil the small black Pug and Fleur the Labrador.

Richard

Richard is Bill's son and a welcome friendly face to every customer who visits us.

Richard is on-hand to help all our clients with whatever they require to make their journey with us as peaceful as possible. A keen animal lover himself he has a Pug called Betty.

Holly

Holly joined us in 2006 initially to manage our horse livery yard and has since transferred to the Pet Crematorium where she is on hand to meet and help pet owners at their time of need.

Holly keeps her two horses Humbug & Casper at the farm and has two dogs both of which come to work.

Graham

Graham joined us in 2008 and is responsible for the management and smooth running of the operation. With his engineering background he can turn his hand to most things and is also regularly available to meet clients.

Graham has two Labradors Tyne & Baloo who also join him at work.

Our Ethics

Our pets are part of the family and they have cared for us as much as we have cared for them, and we feel that they deserve a send-off with dignity and compassion. At Suffolk Pet Crematorium we adhere to a strict code of conduct and are members of the Association of Private Pet Cemeteries and Crematoria. We are independently inspected and approved, assuring you of a genuine service. Our members of staff are pet owners themselves and have experienced the heartache of losing a beloved pet, so we know what you are going through.
