A CELEBRATION OF FOUR LEGGED FRIENDS

Hello lovely people

We hope you are all well , safe and healthy. These past few months have been a strange time for all of us but as we gradually come out of lockdown, we thought it was time to celebrate our four legged friends.

Those of us who are lucky enough to have loyal companions have valued them more than ever at a time of isolation. Their unconditional love has got us through difficult days, weeks and months. We know it hasn’t always been easy. For those of you who have had to completely isolate you may have had to rely on others to walk dogs, look after horses or other livestock. For others, our animals have been a source of joy and a focus to get up and get going. Dogs have never had more walks or more attention with most of us having to work from home.

Mental health issues have come to the fore at a time where many are isolated. Animals, especially cats and dogs can reduce stress, anxiety and depression, encourage exercise and generally improve our health and wellbeing. Getting out and about will normally involve seeing others out doing the same, even if at a distance which helps owners stay socially connected and helps with depression. Animals have a calming effect and are proven to reduce anxiety and provide a routine for those of us who don’t have one. Routine is a good thing – it provides a focus, a reason to get up and a reason to get out.

To those of you who have lost loved ones or animals at this difficult time, our heart goes out to you. Remember to give your four legged friends an extra hug today because you’re allowed to do that!

Our team are always here to help at any time. Please call if you just need to chat through a situation or need to make a difficult decision.
